L'herbier vaudois 2.0: des plantes séchées au Big Data
Naturéum - Jardin botanique

26/02/2018 - 13/04/2018

From the 19th to the late 20th century, herbaria allowed scientists to describe and establish inventories of a diversity of plant life that was previously unknown. Now, thanks to digital tools, herbaria have become powerful instruments for managing biodiversity and understanding its development. From January to March, the Vaud herbarium will be entirely digitised by specialist firm Picturae. As part of this project, the Cantonal Botanical Museum and Gardens offers a series of visits allowing the public to discover the herbaria and the digitisation process.
