Water as an essential component of contemporary urban and regional planning.
The recurring emergence of water-related questions in a range of disciplinary fields surrounding spatial design-political ecology, hydrology, social sciences, and humanities, among others, proves the evolving interest that this element plays in urban design discourse; today, new questions arise, and the exhibition will be an opportunity to delve into them highlighting the strong interrelationships between water and contemporary urban and territorial design.
The exhibition will echo the 2024 Lausanne Jardins cultural event, entitled “Between Water and Us”, questioning the strategic capacity of gardens to strengthen the resilience of contemporary cities and its ability to adapt to the challenges of climate change, loss of biodiversity, and finite resources.
