VERNISSAGE
Located in a 19th century mansion surrounded by a magnificent park, the Fondation de l'Hermitage presents temporary exhibitions devoted to the fine arts, from the Renaissance to the present day.
The exhibitions
The Fondation de l’Hermitage presents two to three major temporary exhibitions a year. Dedicated mainly to 19th and 20th century paintings, the programme is based on three exhibition types: monographic exhibitions (Bonnard, Caillebotte, Giacometti, Hopper, Magritte, Miró, Monet, etc.), theme exhibitions (Impressionism in Swiss French collections, Pointillism, Futurism, American impressionism, Scandinavian painting, Windows, etc.) and exhibitions presenting large public or private collections (including museums in Athens, Barcelona, Lyon and Frankfurt, and the Barbier-Mueller, Bonna, Bührle, Hahnloser and Planque collections).
The collection
The Hermitage collection comprises over 600 works, exhibited on rotation.
The setting
Located in an attractive 19th century residence, the museum is surrounded by a vast park of majestic trees, providing a unique view of the cathedral and lake. The farm adjacent to the museum has various areas that host activities planned around the exhibitions: the workshop, the auditorium where conferences, seminars and concerts are held, as well as the restaurant L'esquisse.
